GALYA SOLODOVNIKOVA
Master of Arts in Scenography from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, as well as a Master of Arts in Fashion Design from Moscow State Textile University in Moscow. Curator of the postgraduate course of «Scenography» at the British Higher School of Art and Design.
An award-winning international artist, theatre set designer, and film and theatre costume designer. She works across different genres, designing for opera, ballet, contemporary dance, physical theatre, drama, and film. Her works have been exhibited and performed in major cities such as London, Vienna, Naples, Moscow, Berlin, Los Angeles, Monte Carlo… Productions she has designed are staged in renowned theaters including Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro San Carlo, Deutsche Theater, Bolshoi Theatre, Mariinskii Theatre, Gogol Centre and many more. She is collaborating with a variety of forefront directors and choreographers, developing cutting edge, innovative theatre.
Recipient of multiple honors, including the «Best Set Design» at the Offies Awards 2024 in London for «White Factory», the «Best Costume Design» at the Festival of Scenography and Costumes „SCENA W BUDOWIE” in Poland 2023 for “The Government Inspector”, the «Golden Eagle Award» for «Best Costume Design in Film 2021, the «Nika Award» for «Best Costume Design in Film 2020», the «Best Young Theatre Designer» theatre award «Proriv» in 2015, multiple nominations for the «Golden Mask Award», and winner of the «Golden Mask Award» 2020 for «Best Costume Design in Music Theatre» for the opera «Rusalka».
